Would you like your photograph of Widecombe Fair to be in next year’s Programme? Maybe even on the front cover?

We thought it would be a great idea to celebrate the photographs visitors take by having a competition to include the best of them in the 2025 Widecombe Fair programme. Entries should be on the theme of ‘A Day Out At Widecombe Fair’, which you can interpret however you want. There’s no need for fancy photographic equipment, a snap on your smartphone could be the winner. What makes Widecombe Fair for you? Is it the cattle and sheep classes, Uncle Tom Cobley on his grey mare or the music and dancing through to the evening?

There are three entry categories:

  1. Children under 11 years

  2. Children 11-17 years

  3. Adults

Winning entries in each category will receive 2 free tickets to next year’s Fair.

There are a few simple rules:

  • All entries must be submitted by 30th September 2024

  • Winning entries will be included in the 2025 Widecombe Fair programme either on the front cover or in the body of the programme

  • Only digital entries can be accepted and no AI generated photographs

  • Each entry must have been taken by the person (adult or child) entering it

  • If there is a recognisable child in the photograph you must have their parent’s written permission to enter the picture

  • Judging will take place at the Widecombe Fair Annual Dinner 2024 and the judge’s decision will be final

  • Winners will be notified by email after the judging has taken place
